We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to KSL Esplanade Hotel for the kind invitation to experience their Santapan Warisan Riuh Bazaar Ramadan buffet. It was truly a delightful evening filled with delicious food, vibrant atmosphere, and beautiful memories.
From the moment we arrived, the ambiance immediately gave us a lively bazaar vibe. The ballroom was beautifully decorated, with stunning chandeliers that added a touch of elegance and luxury to the setting. The space was quite packed — a clear sign that this buffet is well-loved — yet it remained comfortable and enjoyable. To make the evening even more special, there was a live band performing while we dined, creating a warm and festive Ramadan atmosphere.
The food selection was incredibly impressive, featuring over 100 Malaysian dishes to explore. Most of the stalls were set up just like a traditional Ramadan bazaar, serving favourites such as as murtabak, satay, burgers, roti jala with curry, and char kuetiau freshly prepared on the spot. Watching the dishes prepared fresh at the stalls truly enhanced the overall experience. The char kuetiau was especially satisfying — wok-fried over high heat to achieve that perfect smoky “wok hei” aroma, giving it a rich, slightly charred flavour that made each bite incredibly appetising. Watching the dishes being cooked fresh at the stalls truly enhanced the overall experience.
Rice lovers would be spoiled for choice with varieties such as nasi briyani, nasi hujan panas, nasi minyak, and nasi kerabu. The selection of lauk-pauk was equally extensive — from masak lemak siput sedut and lamb curry to daging masak hitam to the rich and comforting sup gearbox that was full of flavour and many more mouth-watering options. Each dish truly reflected the diversity of Malaysian cuisine.
Adding even more variety to the spread was an assortment of kerabu, beautifully presented and bursting with tangy, spicy flavours. Guests could enjoy options such as kerabu mangga, kerabu sotong, kerabu ayam, and other traditional kerabu selections that provided a refreshing balance to the richer dishes.
For those who prefer Western
flavours, there was also a dedicated section featuring a selection of fresh
salads, creamy macaroni and cheese, and classic pasta bolognese. This addition
provided a comforting alternative to the traditional spread, catering to
different taste preferences while still complementing the overall buffet
experience.
Of course, the highlight of
the night was the Kambing Golek, tender and flavourful, making it a
must-try at the buffet. Dessert lovers would not be disappointed either, as
there were plenty of sweet treats including cakes, kuih raya, ice cream,
bubur pengat pisang, bubur kacang merah, and more. There was also
a wide variety of refreshing drinks/air balang to complement the meal.
Personally, my favourite
dishes of the night were the murtabak, char kuetiau, nasi briyani
with lamb curry, satay, and the comforting bubur pengat pisang — each
packed with rich flavours that truly captured the essence of Ramadan.
Another thoughtful touch by the hotel was the availability of a surau within the area, making it convenient for Muslim guests to perform their prayers comfortably.
Overall, Santapan Warisan
Riuh Bazaar at KSL Esplanade Hotel offers not just a buffet, but a complete
Ramadan dining experience — lively, heartwarming, and filled with authentic
Malaysian flavours. It was truly a lovely evening, and we are grateful for the
opportunity to be part of it.
